Sunflowers are such a happy flower. Did you know that they symbolize loyalty and adoration thanks to the myth of Clytie and Apollo. And, because of their association with the sun, this is why they are well-known for being a happy flower and the perfect bloom for a summer flower delivery to brighten someone’s mood!
So, to brighten your day, I’ve created a card using the Celebrate Sunflowers set from Stampin’ Up! This card brings a smile to my face and I hope it does to yours, too.

Basic White scrap for words, bee, and sunflower
Directions: Layer the first 5 layers as shown in the picture. Then stamp your sunflower in black memento and color the inside of the center of the flower with Soft Suede light blends marker then blend with Crumb Cake dark blends marker to create the center of the sunflower. Next color the sunflower with Daffodil Delight light blends marker using a swirling motion to color all of the flower petals in. Highlight a few of the veins in the flower with Daffodil Delight dark blends marker. Cut out with the Sunflower Dies and place 2 Stampin’ Dimensionals on the top and bottom of the flower and adhere onto the Gingham Cottage DSP.
Next stamp one of the bees from the Honeybee Home Suite and Cut out with the corresponding bee die. Color the bee’s body with Daffodil Delight dark blends marker as well as Basic Black dark blends marker. Highlight the wings with Wink of Stella to give it that sheer look of the bee’s wings. Adhere onto the sunflower with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
Next cut the banner from the Eden Dies and stamp the words from the Charming Sentiments stamp set in black memento. Trim the banner down to approximately 2 1/2″ and adhere onto the sunflower with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Add a little dot from the Matte Black dots embellishment.
Lastly tie a bow with the Mossy Meadows trim and adhere onto the bottom of the words banner with a glue dot.
How cute is that?! Does the completed project bring a smile to your face? I know I can’t wait to share it with someone to brighten their day.
